Manny Machado Suspended For 4 Games, Adam Jones Will Pay The $2,500 Fine For Brawl On Wednesday

WOW!!! 4 games and a $2,500 fine (for Adam Jones) for punching Yordano Ventura in the face? That is a god damn steal if you ask me. I was thinking 5 or 6, but I can live with 4, and possibly appealed down to 2 or 3. The O’s have 4 in Toronto,  3 @ Boston, then 3 more against Toronto, a big 10 games coming up, after that they have a makeup game against Texas, they come home for 2 against the Padres, and then start a series with Tampa. I would be fine with him appealing and dragging this out after the last Toronto series, missing the Texas game, and probably both San Diego games.

My guess is that Manny got less than Rougned Odor got because Manny was provoked by Ventura, and was defending himself. Odor kind of started that one, Manny didn’t start this.  Maybe he doesn’t charge the mound if Ventura hits him in the second, but Manny watched 3 98 mph pitches get thrown around his hips, any other player would have done the same thing. So in the end,  him knocking Ventura in the face costs him likely less than 4 games, a $2,500 fine, but Adam Jones already said he would take care of the fine. Not too bad. Ventura ended up getting 9, which will basically be 1 start. Thats dumb, but whatever. Hopefully he’ll throw at someone again, he’ll get knocked again, and we can play this game later.
